Amazon Acquires Globalstar for $11.6 Billion

In a major move to expand its space-based connectivity, Amazon has agreed to purchase Globalstar, the company that currently powers Apple's emergency satellite features.

The deal includes Globalstar's spectrum licenses and its existing network of two dozen satellites, which will be integrated into Amazon's upcoming Leo constellation.

Analysts suggest the acquisition also secures a partnership with Apple, which will now source satellite services from Amazon.

This multi-billion dollar investment underscores the intensifying rivalry between Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk in the rapidly growing satellite internet market.
