Athletics snap Royals' win streak

Lawrence Butler hit a three-run home run as the Athletics defeated the Kansas City Royals 5-2 to end their four-game winning streak.

Luis Severino earned the win, striking out eight batters over seven strong innings.

The Royals' offense was held in check for most of the game, managing only one run against Severino.

The victory provides a much-needed boost for the Athletics as they look to climb the standings.
