Israel-Lebanon ceasefire extended by three weeks

Israel-Lebanon ceasefire extended by three weeks

The Trump administration has brokered a critical three-week extension to the existing ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, which was originally slated to expire this coming Monday.

During the announcement in the Oval Office, the President expressed optimism for a long-term peace deal but emphasized that he would not be rushed into a final settlement with Iran.

The extension provides a diplomatic window for senior officials from Jerusalem and Beirut to convene in Washington for further deliberations.

However, the stability of the truce remains in question as Israeli forces continue operations against Hezbollah targets and regional tensions persist over maritime control.
