Windows 11 RAM usage cut by Microsoft

The update, rolled out to all supported devices, trims background services and refines the memory manager to free up up to 30 % of RAM. Microsoft says the changes will improve performance on older hardware and extend battery life on laptops.

Users can enable the feature via the Settings app or receive it automatically through Windows Update.

The move is part of a broader effort to keep Windows competitive against lightweight operating systems.
