US-Iran Peace Talks Begin

Vice President JD Vance is leading the American delegation in Pakistan for the most significant direct diplomatic engagement with Tehran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The talks are mediated by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and involve senior Iranian officials, including Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf.

Despite the diplomatic opening, tensions persist as the U.S. military begins clearing mines from the Strait of Hormuz without Iranian coordination.

President Trump has maintained a characteristically aggressive stance, asserting that the United States has already achieved military victory regardless of the summit's outcome.
