The Onion Acquires Infowars

The acquisition is the culmination of a multi-year effort by the families of Sandy Hook victims to seek justice against Jones for his defamatory claims.

While a judge must still grant final approval, the deal would allow The Onion to use the Infowars name and website address.

Proceeds from the sale will go toward covering the more than $1 billion Jones owes to the families.

Jones has characterized the move as a 'guaranteed' step toward his eventual political silencing.
