DR Congo aid agreement reached
In a rare breakthrough for the region, the DRC government and Rwanda-backed M23 rebels have committed to a protocol for ceasefire oversight.
The agreement aims to provide relief to swaths of territory seized by the group since 2021, where humanitarian conditions have deteriorated.
Both sides have pledged to release prisoners within ten days as a gesture of goodwill.
While the truce remains fragile, international observers hope this marks a step toward lasting peace in a region ravaged by 30 years of conflict.
