Tories Win Aberdeen South By-Election

The Conservative Party snatched the Aberdeen South seat from the Scottish National Party with a majority of over 6,000 votes in a surprise result.

Conservative candidate Douglas Lumsden won more than 49% of the votes, saying voters had spoken 'loud and clear' to protect the North Sea oil and gas sector.

The result is a major setback for the SNP, with leader John Swinney vowing to 'consider the implications' of the defeat.

Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch celebrated the victory, criticizing Labour for being obsessed with internal drama.
