Westmeath reach Leinster final

Westmeath have achieved a historic milestone by reaching the Leinster Senior Football final after an exhausting extra-time win over Kildare.

A late, dramatic goal from Brandon Kelly proved to be the difference, securing only the sixth provincial final appearance in the county's history.

Midfielder Ray Connellan revealed that reaching the decider had been a primary goal 'pinned on the wall' since the start of the season.

Westmeath will now face the daunting task of dethroning Dublin, who recently defeated Louth to maintain their long-standing dominance in the province.
