Shooting at Mexico pyramids

Panic erupted at the Pyramid of the Moon on Monday as a gunman began firing into crowds of visitors at one of Mexico's most iconic tourist destinations.

Authorities confirmed that a Canadian holidaymaker was fatally shot, while several Americans were among the injured.

The shooter, who reportedly carried out the attack on the anniversary of the Columbine massacre, was found dead with a firearm and ammunition.

The incident has raised urgent concerns about security at major historical sites as Mexico prepares to host the FIFA World Cup this summer.
