Trump and Pope Leo's Conflict

Trump and Pope Leo's Conflict

President Donald Trump and Pope Leo XIV are locked in a heated war of words that is polarizing the American Catholic community ahead of the midterm elections.

During his four-nation Africa tour, the Pope has used a new, forceful speaking style to decry the exploitation of natural resources and the justification of war through religion.

Trump has responded by dismissing the Pope's criticisms and claiming that the pontiff does not understand the necessity of preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

This conflict represents the first time in modern history that a U.S. president has publicly clashed with the head of the Roman Catholic Church.
