Russia and Ukraine swap POWs

In a rare moment of humanitarian cooperation, Russia and Ukraine have completed a large-scale exchange involving nearly 400 prisoners of war.

Each nation released 193 personnel following months of secretive negotiations mediated by the United Arab Emirates and the United States.

The swap comes as both sides continue to engage in heavy fighting across eastern Ukraine, with recent drone strikes targeting key infrastructure.

While officials from both countries praised the successful operation, they cautioned that thousands more remain in captivity as the war shows no signs of an immediate resolution.
