Bharatiya Janata Party
Right-wing political party in India
The Bharatiya Janata Party is a Hindu nationalist political party, which is one of the two major Indian political parties alongside the Indian National Congress; and is considered to be on the right-wing to far-right of the political spectrum. Since 2014, it has been the ruling political party in India under the incumbent prime minister Narendra Modi. BJP follows the Hindutva ideology, associated with cultural nationalism, while having organisational links to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a Hindutva paramilitary volunteer organisation. As of March 2026, it is the country's biggest political party in terms of representation in the parliament as well as state legislatures.
