John Cavanaugh

American artist (1921–1985)

John William Cavanaugh was an American sculptor who worked for much of his career in Washington, D.C., where he lived and worked in the Dupont Circle neighborhood. He worked primarily in lead, a poisonous metal. This is believed to have led to his death from cancer of the lungs.
