The Nepali Army (NA), formerly known as the Royal Nepali Army, is the land warfare branch of the Nepali Armed Forces. It traces its origins to 1559 with the establishment of the Gorkha Kingdom, where it was initially formed as the Gorkhali Army, a term historically associated with the Gurkhas.
