Doug Beattie
Soldier and politician (born 1965)
Douglas Ricardo Beattie is a Northern Irish Independent Unionist politician and former member of the British Army. He was leader of the Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) between 27 May 2021 and 28 September 2024. He resigned his membership of the party in May 2026. Beattie has been a Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly (MLA) for Upper Bann since 2016. He is characterised as a 'progressive' and 'moderate' unionist.
