Andy Burnham made a speech in Manchester today calling for a fundamental reset in how Britain is governed.
The new Makerfield MP is speaking at the People's History Museum on Monday morning, setting out his plans for government as he bids to replace Sir Keir Starmer as Labour Party leader and prime minister.
The former mayor of Greater Manchester has unveiled plans to shift decision-making power away from Whitehall, creating a 'Number 10' in the North based in Manchester.
Mr Burnham said it 'will be the biggest change in our lifetimes to the way the country is run' with the Manchester office to be the 'nerve centre of a rewired Britain'.
