New Prime Minister Andy Burnham has announced that bus fares across England will be capped at £2 next year.
It applies to all areas outside London, which has its own lower limit.

The Conservative government introduced a £2 cap three years ago, which was increased by Sir Keir Starmer in January 2025.
The new prime minister's price reduction is expected to cost more than £500 million.
