India celebrated its first-ever judo double gold at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, with Harsh Singh winning the men's 60kg division and Asmita Dey claiming the women's title.

Prime Minister Modi hailed the achievement as a historic day for Indian judo, while England's Acelya Toprak took gold in the women's -57kg final.

In athletics, Gulveer became the first Indian to win a medal in the men's 10,000m, claiming silver in an event traditionally dominated by African distance runners.
