The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a bomb attack on a passenger train near Quetta, in southwest Pakistan, killing at least 30 people and injuring more than 100.
A vehicle laden with explosives was detonated as the shuttle train, carrying security forces personnel travelling home for Eid, passed nearby, causing two carriages to overturn and catch fire.
Several surrounding buildings and vehicles were also severely damaged.
A medical emergency has been declared at local hospitals, and authorities warn the death toll may rise.

Balochistan is a mineral-rich province central to Pakistan's economic relationship with China, and the BLA has carried out a series of deadly attacks in the region.

Al Jazeera's Kamal Hyder reports from Quetta, Pakistan.
