Nobel Peace Prize laureate María Corina Machado is planning to run for the job of Venezuela's president again.
She announced her intentions in Panama on Saturday while meeting with fellow Venezuelan opposition leaders.
Machado has been in exile since December after being honored in Norway.
She emphasized the need for free and fair elections, though it's unclear when they might happen.
The U.S. has shifted its support to Venezuela's acting President Delcy Rodríguez, who has opened the country's oil industry to U.S. investment.
Machado was previously barred from running in 2024 but she says she remains committed to a democratic transition in Venezuela.
