Severe storms damage Mississippi homes, multiple tornadoes reported

Powerful storms that included at least one confirmed tornado have torn through parts of Mississippi, collapsing hundreds homes, tearing up trees and downing power lines.

There were no immediate reports of deaths or severe injuries from the storms that struck several counties Wednesday night.

A mobile home park in Bogue Chitto was severely damaged.

The National Weather Service says a large tornado moved from eastern Lincoln County into Lawrence County.

Gov. Tate Reeves reported multiple tornadoes and said emergency response efforts are underway.

More storms are expected Thursday across the Southeast.
