Two RCMP officers are in hospital with serious injuries and one person has been arrested following a shooting in Melville, Sask.
Around 9:35 p.m. Sunday, Melville RCMP were called to a report of an assault at a home on 8th Avenue West.
A gun was fired as officers arrived, and two Melville RCMP officers were hit.
They were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The armed suspect, believed to be an adult man, remained inside the home.
More officers from the Melville RCMP and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Response Team - including the Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services and Crisis Negotiation Team - responded immediately.
Officers with the Serious Crimes Unit also responded, as did the Government of Saskatchewan’s Protection and Response team, and the Regina Police Service’s SWAT officers.
