Voting underway in West Bank, parts of Gaza

Palestinians in the West Bank and parts of the Gaza Strip began voting in municipal elections, the first since the war that began in October 2023.

The Central Elections Commission said nearly 1.5 million people are registered to vote in the West Bank, along with about 70,000 in the Deir el-Balah area.

Polling stations opened early in the morning as residents continue to face difficult humanitarian conditions amid ongoing Israeli military operations.
