Over 850 schools across the UK have been forced to shut as the record-breaking temperatures hit the UK.
Temperatures could hit 40C today (Wednesday) in parts of England and Wales.
A rare red weather warning for extreme heat covering an area stretching from London to Swansea and Somerset to Birmingham was issued by the Met Office from 9am on Wednesday to 9pm on Thursday.
More than 250 schools were forced to close yesterday.
Hundreds of schools have already confirmed closures today as even higher temperatures are forecast.
