Mount Everest guide calls for summit climbers limit
A renowned Mount Everest guide who scaled the peak a record 32nd time this week says there's an urgent need to limit climbers on the summit.
Their numbers are higher this season because China has closed the route from Tibet.
On Wednesday, 274 climbers reached the summit from the Nepal side, a record for a single day.
Nepal's authorities have issued 494 permits, with an equal number of Sherpa guides.
Kami Rita Sherpa, who first climbed Everest in 1994, emphasizes the need for control.
His expertise, along with other Sherpas, is vital for climbers' safety.
