A powerful tornado — classified as an EF4 — destroyed homes, cut power to thousands, and forced Vance Air Force Base to close in northern Oklahoma on Thursday.
The city of Enid was hit hard, with some homes and businesses levelled after the tornado ripped through.
The National Weather Service issued a warning for severe and damaging thunderstorms on Thursday night, adding that hail the size of golf balls was possible.
Officials say at least 10 people suffered minor injuries and at least one person was taken to a hospital.
