Authorities in Iowa say three University of Iowa students have been wounded in a shooting that erupted in a nightlife district near campus.
It’s not clear how many people in total were injured in the shooting that happened early Sunday in downtown Iowa City.
Police say multiple victims were transported to hospitals for gunshot wounds.
A campus alert sent later Sunday morning said no arrests have been made.
Police say officers were responding to reports of a large fight when they heard shots being fired.
The shooting happened near a pedestrian mall filled with bars and restaurants.
The university is advising students to stay away from the area.
