Small vessels were seen carrying people from the MV Hondius to the quayside at Granadilla port.
Officials were waiting there to guide them to buses that would transfer them to a medical facility for quarantine.
Spain’s health minister earlier said that Spanish nationals would be the first to leave the ship.
