Israel deports 2 activists detained for leading an aid flotilla to Gaza
Israel has deported two activists detained for over a week after leading an aid flotilla attempting to break the naval blockade of Gaza.
The activists, Saif Abukeshek and Thiago Ávila, were intercepted by the Israeli navy off Crete.
Both are members of the Global Sumud Flotilla, which aims to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry called them "professional provocateurs." Spain and Brazil condemned their detention in international waters.
Meanwhile, an Israeli strike in Gaza killed two people, including a Hamas police officer.
The strike follows a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
