A California attorney who aided President Donald Trump’s efforts to stay in power following his 2020 election loss is no longer licensed to practice in California.
The California Supreme Court ordered John Eastman be disbarred on Wednesday.
That follows a yearslong effort by the state bar to strip Eastman of his license.
A representative for the State Bar of California says the decision follows “clear and convincing evidence that he advanced false claims about the 2020 presidential election." Eastman’s attorney says they plan to seek review in the U.S. Supreme Court.
