Nearly two million Muslims gathered on Tuesday at Mount Arafat in Saudi Arabia to mark Arafah, the most significant day of the Hajj pilgrimage.

This year’s pilgrimage is taking place against the backdrop of the Iran conflict and growing uncertainty across the region.
Despite this, Saudi authorities say more than 1.51 million pilgrims arrived from outside the kingdom, around 11,000 more than last year.
