Tornado warning forces Kansas City Chiefs to shelter during first round of NFL draft
The Kansas City Chiefs nearly had to make a draft pick while taking shelter from a tornado Thursday night.
Sirens sounded just before their second first-round selection, forcing the front-office staff to huddle in their draft room.
Reporters and other staff moved to an inner hallway away from windows.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid noted the draft room is a shelter spot.
The siren ended about 15 minutes before the Chiefs picked Clemson defensive tackle Peter Woods.
They chose LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane sixth overall earlier in the night.
