Gatineau Braces for Major Floods

Persistent rainfall combined with the spring thaw has pushed river levels up by as much as 14 centimeters in some areas.

A flood warning remains in effect for parts of Eastern Ontario and Quebec, with dozens of streets already impacted by washouts and bridge closures.

Environment Canada expects colder temperatures in the coming days, which may help stabilize river levels and provide some relief to emergency crews.

However, residents remain on high alert as the threat to residential and commercial property persists through the week.
