Iran reopens Strait of Hormuz

The Iranian foreign ministry announced the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for all commercial vessels, a move synchronized with a newly implemented 10-day truce in Lebanon.

This critical waterway, which handles a significant portion of the world's oil trade, had been largely obstructed since the outbreak of hostilites between the U.S. and Iran.

Global markets reacted with immediate optimism, sending crude oil prices down sharply and driving Wall Street indices to record highs.

However, the U.S. administration maintains a cautious stance, with President Trump stating that the naval blockade on Iranian ports will persist until negotiations over Tehran's nuclear program reach a definitive conclusion.
