Japan wildfires force evacuations
A massive wildfire is raging for a sixth day in northeastern Japan, threatening areas that were previously devastated by the 2011 tsunami.
Volunteer firefighters, some of whom lost their homes in the disaster 15 years ago, are working to exhaustion to contain the fire as it spreads through mountainous terrain.
The blaze has forced thousands of residents to flee their homes and has delayed the start of the local sea urchin fishing season.
Meteorological officials have warned that dry conditions and strong winds are complicating containment efforts in the Iwate and Hokkaido regions.
