Trump claims nuclear freeze deal

In a series of high-stakes announcements, President Trump claimed that Iranian negotiators have made significant concessions, including a commitment to never develop a nuclear weapon.

The deal under discussion would see the United States release $20 billion in frozen funds in exchange for Iran handing over its stockpiles of highly enriched uranium.

Trump also noted that Iran is currently working to remove sea mines from the Strait of Hormuz to restore commercial confidence in the vital shipping lane.

While the president expressed optimism that a final peace agreement could be signed as early as this weekend, some international allies remain skeptical of the proposed terms.
