North Korea launches ballistic missiles

South Korea's military reported that the missiles were launched from the Sinpo area on Sunday morning, prompting an emergency meeting in Seoul.

This marks the fourth such launch this month and the seventh of the year, signaling North Korea's continued defiance of U.N. sanctions.

Analysts suggest the tests are intended to demonstrate self-defense capabilities and gain international leverage amid the ongoing war in Iran.

Japan has also detected the launches and issued a formal protest against the violation of international resolutions.
