Iran reopens the Strait of Hormuz

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iran announced that the Strait of Hormuz is now completely open for commercial shipping, effectively easing a seven-week blockade.

While President Donald Trump welcomed the move as a major step toward peace, he clarified that the U.S. naval blockade on Iranian ports will remain in full force until a final deal is reached.

Market analysts warn that while oil prices have plummeted by over 10%, a full return to pre-war shipping levels will depend on complex mine-clearing operations and insurance adjustments.

European leaders are currently meeting in Paris to discuss a potential multinational mission to ensure long-term maritime security in the region.
