Starmer Rejects Hormuz Blockade

Breaking with the Trump administration's military strategy, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has stated that British ships will not join the naval blockade of Iranian ports.

Starmer warned that the conflict in the Middle East could cause 'untold damage' to the UK economy and insisted that reopening the Strait of Hormuz must be achieved through international cooperation.

Alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, the UK plans to host a conference for nations willing to support a 'peaceful mission' in the region.

The move highlights a growing divide between Washington and its traditional NATO allies over the conduct of the Iran war.
