Artemis II mission heads for moon

The six-minute translunar injection burn provided the necessary 6,000 pounds of thrust to propel the Orion capsule toward its destination.

The crew, consisting of three Americans and one Canadian, reported they are in good spirits and spent their first full day in space taking photographs and testing systems.

Despite minor technical hiccups with emails and a malfunctioning toilet, mission control has cleared the flight for its ten-day journey.

The spacecraft is currently hundreds of miles from Earth, with that distance increasing rapidly as it prepares for a lunar fly-around early next week.
