Japan Lifts Lethal Arms Export Ban
In a decision that has significant implications for global defense markets, the Japanese government has authorized the sale of domestically produced lethal equipment to international partners.
Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi stated that several countries have already expressed interest in Japanese military technology.
The policy change is a direct response to increasing aggression from China and North Korea, as well as the ongoing instability caused by the Iran war.
While the move has been praised by allies, it has also sparked protests among Japan's youth who fear a return to militarism.
