UK school food overhaul
Prime Minister Keir Starmer will visit Greater Manchester on Monday to unveil new nutritional rules for school lunches.
Under the plan, staples like fish and chips and sausage rolls will be removed from daily menus, while desserts such as ice cream and cake will be restricted to once a week.
The initiative is backed by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and health campaigners who have long warned about the impact of poor diet on student performance.
The government also plans to expand free breakfast clubs as part of a wider effort to address the cost-of-living crisis.
