Artemis II shatters distance record

NASA's Artemis II mission reached a historic milestone on Monday as its four-person crew broke the all-time distance record for human spaceflight.

The Orion spacecraft surpassed the 248,655-mile mark established by the ill-fated Apollo 13 mission over 55 years ago.

During the scheduled lunar flyby, the crew will capture high-resolution imagery of the moon's far side, a perspective never before seen by the naked eye.

This 10-day rehearsal is a vital step in NASA's broader strategy to return humans to the lunar surface within the next two years.
