China Blacklists 20 Japanese Entities, Deepening Feud

China has placed 20 Japanese entities on its export control blacklist, barring Chinese and foreign exporters from selling them dual-use items.

The list includes the National Institute for Defense Studies and multiple divisions of Mitsubishi Corporation.

The Chinese government cited national security and international non-proliferation obligations as justification for the measure.

The move escalates a months-long diplomatic and trade feud between Beijing and Tokyo, occurring in the context of wider tensions with U.S. allies over technology and security.
