China Blacklists More Japanese Entities

China expanded its export-control blacklist to include 20 Japanese entities, including the National Institute for Defense Studies and Mitsubishi Electric Defense and Space Technologies, citing national security and non-proliferation obligations.

The move deepens the feud with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's government and follows similar restrictions imposed on 10 U.S. firms last week.

The blacklisted entities are now barred from receiving dual-use items from China, a significant escalation in the technology and military supply chain conflict.

The action comes amid heightened economic security tensions and a broader push by Beijing to retaliate against foreign defense-related restrictions.
