Iran reopens Strait of Hormuz

The Iranian foreign ministry announced that the Strait of Hormuz is now completely open for commercial vessels, effectively ending a seven-week de facto blockade.

This strategic shift coincides with a 10-day truce between Israel and Hezbollah, which has provided the necessary diplomatic opening for renewed negotiations.

Despite the reopening, President Donald Trump clarified that the U.S. naval blockade will remain in force until a comprehensive deal is finalized.

Shipping companies and insurers remain cautious, citing potential mine threats and the need for coordination with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
