Japan scraps arms export ban

The decision to allow the export of lethal equipment represents the most significant change to Japan's security posture in eight decades.

Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi stated that the move is necessary to counter 'increasingly aggressive' behavior from China and North Korea.

Protests have erupted among Japan's youth, who argue the change violates the nation's 'supreme law' and risks involving Japan in overseas conflicts.

However, the government maintains that the policy is essential for maintaining a free and democratic Indo-Pacific while supporting the global defense supply chain.
