Sonam Wangchuk Hospitalised After 21-Day Fast

Indian climate activist Sonam Wangchuk was forcibly removed from his hunger strike at Delhi's Jantar Mantar and taken to Safdarjung Hospital after his health deteriorated on the 21st day of his protest.

Delhi Police said the action followed a High Court order and medical advice, citing significant weight loss and the need for essential medical care.

Wangchuk's wife, Gitanjali Angmo, forbade any medical treatment without her consent, while CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke launched his own indefinite hunger strike in response.

Opposition leaders across India condemned the removal as an assault on democracy, with the protest movement demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged NEET examination irregularities.
