Province in northeastern Thailand
Mukdahan is a border province located in the upper northeastern region of Thailand. Its topography lies within the Sakon Nakhon basin, with the Mekong River serving as a natural boundary separating Mukdahan province from Savannakhet province, Laos. The provincial administrative center is approximately 652 kilometers from Bangkok and about 108 kilometers from Nakhon Phanom province. Mukdahan is part of the Upper Northeastern Region 2 provincial cluster, also known as the "SNUK" group.
